Młodzi ekonomiści na hiszpańskim rynku pracy
In September, a group of 16 students from Bydgoszcz were hosted by euromind in Seville to gain a 3-weeks internship in administration. All students get a unique experience to increase skills for their future jobs.
As administrative assistants, trainees had their practice all together with a tutor. Their main tasks included: creating and modifying documents using Microsoft Office, preparing, scanning and registering documents in electronic and paper filing systems, processing invoices, receipts and payments dealing with financial documents, creating and controlling supplier / customer files and cash registers, preparing employee files: contracts, hours registration, payroll, etc., preparing employee payroll, controlling and updating credit lines (interests, commissions, amortizations), updating and regularizing bank reconciliations and creating and reviewing company budgets. To sum up, students got to know a little bit of Spanish administration system and its issues.
During their stay in Seville, the trainees not only developed their work skills but also took part in different cultural activities such as the Seville tour, Tapas Night and Living Abroad workshop. Students also were lucky to get a chance to visit Cadiz, Albufeira and Malaga.
Albufeira is the largest and most lively city on the Algarve coast. It has beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife, great food and of course, great weather! It has transformed from a peaceful fishing village into the most popular tourist resort destination in the Algarve which is famous for its caves and perfect summer weather to enjoy it during the summer time. Trainees spent their time sightseeing and sunbathing.
Living Abroad workshop aims to prepare students for living abroad and experiencing the programme with awareness and appreciation. During the workshop, the students had a chance to gain a deeper insight into the process of multicultural adaptation. It allowed the students to: discover the definitions of multiculturalism, cultural shock and stereotypes, learn methods of cultural adaptation, discover the differences and similarities between the culture of their country and that of Spain, take real-life advice for moving abroad from a person with long and diverse experience in it, see how their culture of origin influences the way they perceive reality and interpret various phenomena and human behaviour.
Students get sufficient Spanish courses with our Spanish teacher, during which they learn basic Spanish words and expressions in order to communicate and comprehend simple conversations with locals. The course itself is very practical, after learning basics, we use them in real situations. One of the Spanish classes takes place outside, where students´ task is to use words they already know. We believe that’s the best way to learn a new language!
In general, coming to Seville was not only a great opportunity to learn students’ future professions from a different point of view, but also discover new culture and its pros and cons. We hope each student have acquired unforgettable memories, knowledge and experience!
