IT TECHNICIANS AND WEB PROGRAMMERS GAIN EXPERIENCE IN ÚBEDA

Sixteen students from Warsaw visited Úbeda for a four-week internship, where they worked in local businesses as IT technicians and web developers. The web developers helped to update and redesign the websites of their companies and learned how to use new software. The IT technicians learned how to disassemble, assemble and repair electrical devices, such as computers and mobiles phones. Some of the trainees were lucky enough to learn more about Úbeda and Spanish culture through their work, for example taking part in an olive oil tasting session and visiting an olive oil museum.

In their free time, they were able to explore Andalusia and immerse themselves in Spanish culture. They visited Baeza, which is a UNESCO world heritage site twinned with Úbeda. They admired the impressive Renaissance architecture and the beautiful views of the olive trees. They then visited Nerja, where they saw the caves as well as the beach, enjoying the lovely sunny weather! The trip ended in the small village of Frigiliana, one of the prettiest villages in Spain. The trainees also participated in a football match, Spain vs Poland, which they really enjoyed!

Finally, the trainees had Spanish lessons, which they found very useful because it meant that they could communicate with their colleagues. They learnt a lot in a very short time and were able to put this into practice in daily life in Úbeda.

We hope that our trainees enjoyed their stay here in Úbeda and have learnt new skills that they will be able to use in Poland!
